Did you shop at a Lacoste store in California and receive a credit-card receipt showing too much of your card number?
You may be eligible to participate in a consumer protection lawsuit and receive compensation.
What is this about?
Federal law (the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, or FACTA) requires merchants to protect customers by printing only limited credit or debit card information on receipts. Some customers who shopped at certain Lacoste retail stores in California may have received receipts that did not comply with these requirements.
Why should you care?
Receipts showing more card information than allowed can increase the risk of identity theft and financial fraud. Federal law provides consumers with the right to seek statutory damages when businesses fail to follow these rules.
What’s in it for you?
If you qualify and choose to participate, you may be entitled to compensation. There is no cost to submit your information or to have your situation evaluated.
Who is a qualified plaintiff?
You may qualify if:
- You made a purchase at a Lacoste retail store in California, and
- You paid with a personal credit or debit card, and
- Your printed receipt showed more than the last five digits of your card number or displayed the card’s expiration date, and
- The purchase occurred before August 20, 2025, and
- You may still have the receipt or other proof of purchase (helpful but not always required).
